Baby Boomers are embracing social networking and are beginning to discover the power of this new marketing tool. Many of the Baby Boomers like me have spent more than 30+ years working for the branding of a company or organization and without the benefit of self-branding.
Many of the Boomers are retiring in waves due to the many changes in the economy throughout the world. These recent economic changes have resulted in companies who continue to dump the older, higher paid Baby Boomers in exchange for the recent graduates to eliminate operating costs.
Due to these rapid trend changes, inflation and the disappearing 401(k) savings has begun to cause serious declines in the wealth for many Baby Boomers. Consequently, Boomers are rethinking whether they can retire from work after having to give up the many gains garnered while they awaited the expected freedom of retiring from work. Some of the Boomers are finding the need to return to work but are unsure of just where they might fit.
I suggest they take a look at attraction marketing as a way to take advantage of the social marketing phenomenon as they re-enter the workforce. We have clues all around us. For example: Every ad appearing on TV will have the branding symbol of Facebook and Twitter.
This is also apparent when you go to your doctor’s office, and/or in both large and small businesses, and see you can connect with them on Facebook and Twitter. Social networking is a trend that is here to stay.
Many Boomers are already on board, so it’s a no brainer for the Baby Boomers to take advantage of attraction marketing as a tool to become successful in a network marketing company.
The advent of computers has positioned many of the Baby Boomers in a unique position to take advantage of social networking as a personal brand medium to create wealth. It is here where they can use their brain power. The life experiences held by most Boomers can be used to provide effective training or education in many areas where they can work with like-minded people providing value to them.
The attraction marketing process can be used in conjunction with the power of personal branding and social networking. To deal with returning to work, Boomers will need to continue to find ways to increase their value to others through education and work experience.
There are many complications the Baby Boomer will face if they plan to go back to work. The fact of the matter is that many Boomers are just beginning to experience the changes of their physical life due to personal health. Just these alone are major challenges each Baby Boomer will have to endure. Many of the challenges will be more physical in nature than mental, thus the physical routines of the regular job can and will be insurmountable.
Relationship marketing will be just what most Baby Boomers are in need of after leaving the large social network of their previous workplace. The attraction marketing process allows the Baby Boomers to develop a worldwide relationship with people. When you talk to Baby Boomers, this is what you will find out about their dreams and aspirations.
They want to maintain good health, to travel, and to build and develop new relationships. Unfortunately, many lack the resources or health to do just that. But, social networking is the answer because it can help people connect to new people as well as reconnect with friends and family.
Through attraction marketing you have a chance to provide value, leadership and serve others. Many Boomers grew up during a period where it was a necessity to serve others in order for many families to survive. This was a time when neighbors would share what little they had to make sure everyone could make it.
It was not until the death of my mother would I witness the edification offered by so many people who had been helped by my mother. I was literally shocked at the distance whole families traveled just to share how my mother had helped them.
Growing up in a poor family, I just assumed we never had anything to give others because we had so little. However, what I found is what little we had was shared with others.
To help others is something Baby Boomers have learned all too well and for any Baby Boomer going back to work at the age of social media used in conjunction with attraction marketing, they can help solve problems of many new worldwide friends to help get the job done!
Yes, we can get it done! As Baby Boomers we come programmed through life experiences and training to help solve people’s problems.
Attraction Marketing has come along at a time when so many Baby Boomers are tired of the rat race, the commute, and the pressure of corporate America. This social marketing strategy allows the Boomer to reconnect with society and take advantage of the self branding of themselves and not the company or organization.
Let’s face it, we know that the “company/organization” doesn’t need you and you’re just a number on a sheet of paper or a digit in cyberspace, and the only thing that counts is the value you can bring to the marketplace. The opportunity for Boomers to develop their own personal brand is a way to help others and become successful in whatever one chooses.
To be successful, Baby Boomers must stay focused on what their real business is; which is “marketing” and becoming a newly branded person providing value in the marketplace.
